A remix of previous Buffalo-based bands, Of Crime and Passion has been steadily preparing to unleash their fresh take on rock for the past year. Vocalist and songwriter Daniel Marin first partnered with Blake Archibald (guitar) and Ian McCrohan (keyboard/synth) in 2004. In 2005 Ryan Gath (bass guitar) joined the group, followed by Daniel’s schoolmates Asaf Nisim (drums/percussion) in 2006 and Lana Stafford (keyboard) in 2007. Since 2004 Marin has steadily been writing hooks and lyrics sure to be a pleasant surprise for any listener. He cites his major influences as The Cure, Morrissey, The Dears, Danzig, and a-Ha, amongst others. OCAP’s sound can be described as an eclectic mix of catchy tunes, pulsing rhythms, and incredibly powerful lyrics.
